More pretty blue stuff.

You know that blue teapot photo I posted a few days ago? Well, it has a cousin on the patio: a blue-glazed terra cotta pot. And it's full of—you guessed it—PANSIES!

If you know my mom, you know she has a thing for pansies. I kinda do too. Who wouldn't love a flower that comes in every color of the rainbow, and looks like a bunch of smiling little faces looking up at you?

And here's a pretty green thing for you too.  :)  This is the vase she keeps hanging by the front door...always filled with something from the garden.  Today it's elegant calla lilies.

Tomorrow's post is something I've been mulling since God popped it into my head a week ago.  Short but very sweet.  And I think you'll agree it pretty much guarantees happiness in whatever situation you find yourself.

Till tomorrow, friends...

Bokeh heaven

I'm still in bokeh heaven...the beautiful shallow depth of field that this 50mm lens creates is such a treat to work with.  Makes it easy to "discover beauty", for sure!

"Consider the lilies of the field..."

Calla lilies grow here like weeds.  Sometimes they get to four feet tall, with leaves like big green umbrellas.  I don't know what possesses these things to grow like this, but they're all over the place!

It rained cats and dogs the night before last.  So first thing in the morning my camera dragged me outside to take a few calla lily photos before diving into the day's work.  I didn't complain.  ;)

And finally, my favorite photo this week!  (Drumroll...)

This just makes me smile.  :)  Amazing, isn't it, what joyful beauty God puts into little details!

Sometimes I feel like a "little detail" myself.  Why should anybody bother about little ol' me?  Yet Somebody has bothered...more than bothered, He moved heaven and earth to come rescue me and bring healing and forgiveness and relationship with him.  How shocking that God would concern himself that much with his wayward creation.  How he loves us.

Hope your Good Friday is truly "good".
