I love doing family portraits!

Yes, I really do!  I'm too busy with weddings to do a whole lot of portraits...but I love doing them!  This family and I had a grand time last Saturday in Livermore, wandering around a park and finding good light.  Oh, and very cool sycamore tree trunks.  Yes.  We found several of those...

Logan and Skyler.  These kids were so much fun.  We were great friends by the time we finished the photos!

Logan is a tremendously strong individual.  He can hold up entire trees, as you see.

Mommy and daughter have such beautiful hair!

I love the abandon of a child having a good time.

Beautiful.  I'm sure you'll all agree.  :)

Working on editing the whole set...they'll be up on my online proofing site soon.  I have to say, editing on one of the fastest laptops in the world (well, ok, pretty close!) is a delight.  This new computer was WAY overdue, and it's such a contrast! The old Dell served me well for a long time, but 4GB of RAM just wasn't near enough any more.  With 8GB now and a super-fast i7 processor and a fast graphics card and a nice big 7200rpm hard drive that I put in when I got it -- well, this computer is just making my life soo wonderful.  :)

Ahh...ok, enough obsessing...back to the editing.  ;)  God bless you all, my dear readers!

"He knows our frame"

I've been thinking about Psalm 103 a lot lately.  It's always been one of my favorite psalms, and since reading it Tuesday morning (it was one of the "Psalms for the day") I've been mulling over some of the verses.  It's been so good for my heart.  My Father in heaven has such mercy.  He knows I'm not perfect yet.  I often fail to trust him, yet he is so merciful, so generous...he shows so much compassion to me out of his father's heart.

"As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust."

(Psalm 103:13-14)

That's all for now, but I have exciting news about Brent and Chantil's photos...they're going to be up today!  Links to follow soon!

And more favorites of Kira!

Here's the final batch of my favorite images from Kira's portrait session.  :)  It was hard to choose...she's such a photogenic little princess.

And of course, Friskia is rather photogenic too.  ;)

Dreaming among the flowers...

I have a weakness for these little violets.  :)

Love that happy smile!

I posted this photo earlier, in color...but the sepia seems to have a special magic of its own.

The End.  Ta-daaaaa!  :D

Oh, and one with her Mona Lisa smile...

If you want to see more, I'll be uploading the entire batch of finals to this gallery tonight.

Next post: the birthday present I did for my mom this week!  I'm very excited to share it with you!!  :D

Lucas: A gentleman who always makes me smile.

Well.  I was going to post something thoughtful, as I mentioned below.  But I'm just too tired tonight...it's been a long day.  I'll post it tomorrow.  However...I still wanted to give you something worth your visit here!  So in case you need a chuckle right now, here is a photo that cracks me up every time I see it.  This is my little friend Lucas!

Lucas is three years old and an incredible clown. His piano lessons are impossible to sit through with a straight face.  His mom and I crack up every single time. Of course, that only makes the show better.  He's so much fun to teach.  And I'll have you know, he has a mighty fine piano hand!

Till tomorrow, folks........

A little person in Yushu

Just like little flower girls, I have a weakness for little persons all over the place...and this little person in Yushu was no exception.  We were at a shrine with thousands of mani stones (more on that in tomorrow's post!) and it had started to rain.  She was trudging around the shrine, her little umbrella up, turning the prayer wheels just like all the big people.

What a precious little person.  Jesus loves her.  And you too.

More cuteness!

Where Kate is concerned, the more photos, the better, in my opinion.  ;)  When I'm around her, I wish I had a sports camera with super-high shutter speeds.  She has the most hilarious expressions, and they change in a split second!

Here's my most recent photo of Kate.  Such a cute little waif!  ;)  She is growing up so fast...some time I need to do a "real" portrait session with her.

Kate. Quite possibly the cutest kid in the world.

Of course I'm a little biased, but I think my little cousin Kate has got to be one of the cutest kids EVer.  You just might agree once you see these photos!

Here she is as a baby...

And here she is as a two-year-old.  She wouldn't really pose for me, of course, but she has so many hilarious expressions...all I have to do was just keep my camera around at family get-togethers and I'm sure to get something!

And it didn't end there.  I think I'll post a few more tomorrow.  ;)

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday!  He is risen!!!
